partitioning drives is not something i recommend.
i'm kind of wondering...did you buy a brand new computer, or was it used and therefore the drive is not formatted?

I dunno if somethings wrong with yours, but mine had a weird aluminum/plastic/electronics smell when I fist got it.

depends on what OS you are on now I guess.
i just upgraded my ipod touch and also had to restore a couple of times. apparently if you restore from a backup, it causes problems with the new jailbreak... can anyone confirm that? i ended up having to set up as a new (so i lost all settings and game saves) to get some jailbroken apps to work.

I honestly havnen't had good luck with the mac clients. I LOVE the GPU clients on regular PC's. There is just so much more PPD available with a GPU client.

yeah, i've had bad luck with the mac clients also. i would try the GPU clients, but my video card isn't supported.

Why annoying, because PowerPoint is so lame? You can export Keynote to PowerPoint, or to Flash, or QuickTime, or PDF.
What we really need is a Windows Keynote player downloadable for free off of Apple's website. ...Apple could probably throw one together in a day and iWork sales would skyrocket (not to mention the switching potential of the Windows users watching such a beautiful presentation on their piece of crap :D).

Yes, the vyper or a case will offer good protection but they are bulky. If you need to fit your mbp in a backpack or professional briefcase I would go with a sleeve. Depends what you want.

It's not an unreasonable expectation. Apple might not 'owe' you anything - but at this stage the OP hasn't made the purchase - they are trying to negotiate the purchase. Apple have announced they are updating software soon, OP could wait and buy later, or buy now. Apple would prefer buy now, so it's an exchange, OP agrees not to hold off on his purchase, Apple agrees to give him free software (the marginal cost of which, by the way, is essentially nil).
Or should we not try to negotiate with the almighty Apple gods?

Actually, I was wrong. I should've said that the method is in the UIViewController subclass (otherwise I would not have been able to connect it in IB, I believe). I have also checked my NIB file ForoTestView.xib, and I am setting the File's Owner class to "ForoTestViewController", so I don't get why the app is sending the "showNextView" message to a UIViewController instance. I believe the problem lies in the way I set up the navigation bar controller. I replaced the template line which assigns the rootViewController for the app. Let me check everything over again, and I'll post back. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions, they are more than welcome.

And yes, some of them re-register. They are often identified to the moderators by users who recognize them, or are spotted by the moderators themselves. The people who get banned, i.e., users who break rules and are uncooperative in the first place, tend not to change personality and as a result often end up getting banned again for the same reason they did the first time. Very few want to play cat-and-mouse this way for long since they aren't able to use the forums as other users do. No doubt there are some re-registrants who haven't been caught, but there's not much we can do about that. has your 7800GT got a dual slot cooler on it? the Quadro does (its the same cooler as the pc 7900GTX had) and also the same as the pc 7800GTX.. i think the 7800gt had that sheity single half lenth cooler on it. if thats the case, just grab a aftermarket cooler and be done with it.
seriously stay away from that 6600le its a piece of junk...
then again, if you dont play any games at all, nor use the gpu then sure i huess why not, go for the 6600...

Ok, I decided to do some investigating on my own to determine the root cause of the excessive noise.. it appears that there was a lot of dust in the video card.. while I got most of it out, the noise still prevails, sometimes going away for a short while then returning.. I might just get the Quadra fx 4500 and be done with it.. but also get the 6600(NOT LE).. THE 256MB version which is also a 6600 nvidia.
I am going to buy some compressed air today and see if that resolves the problem once and for all.. as I said, I blew into the fan area and took the thing apart, applied new arctic silver to the heat sinks..
the fan noise is not as bad as yesterday.. but it isn't totally done away with. I am really not going to mess with this anymore as I started getting artifacts - probably my fault for not applying enough arctic silver.

Well, good news from me. My latch problem pretty much disappeared today. I don't know what happened, the last time I closed it was Monday, and then bam, today it works. So the only problem left now is speakers. That and lack of sleep :D.

Dont worry about getting one now,if the iphone5 comes out in sept,thats 4+ months away,one of my contracts is up and im going to get a HTC sensation and try that,got to see what all this dual-core is all about,if i like like it then all well and good,if not another contract is up in august so i'll get the 5 then.
