    My reply in red.

Oiyvay! More waiting on hold! Maybe the best thing to do is connect and disconnect from the modem with whichever mac I happen to be using at the time?

It seems there are never easy answers for my questions.

Is THIS (http://www.att.com/equipment/accessory-details/?q_categoryid=cat2020062&q_sku=sku4760228&q_manufacturer=&q_model) the modem you have?

I'm no expert, but I'd say that you'd need a router. Spend a little more to get one with Gigabit speeds (aka 10/100/1000T). I've only ever used Netgear and Apple networking products and I can say that setting the network up with either is very easy. I'm guessing that Linksys, Belkin, etc. are all just as easy.

No need to buy your own modem, unless you're paying AT&T a lease fee ... that $5/mo adds up and a DSL modem/router could pay off in a year or so.

When you click a <select> input on a web page, a pickerView slides up from the bottom and lets you pick an item. it also has a 'done' button in case you want to exit the view.

How is this done with a UIpickerView or is it something else?

    thanks.

That is not good. Think about how many electronics doctors use these days.

For example, if I was doing a laparoscopic surgery, and the power went out and I was in the middle of internally stitching something. What would I do? Not to mention the anesthesiologist's problems.

Not good. Not good at all. I would hate to be doing an operation then. I don't really know the power features of our hospital. I know that it has multiple back-up generators.

Fun Fact: I do that the ESPN Aux. Data Center in Bloomfield (think), CT has two jet engine powered generators.

... can someone please help me out with creating a logo that looks like a wispy cloud ...

Let's talk about this for a moment. Logos need to have impact, both visually and symbolically. A wispy cloud doesn't seem to have either of these qualities.

What are you trying to say with your wispy cloud? Is there perhaps a better way to convey what you're hoping to convey?

That would explain why my Xcode download timed out last night after getting up to ~3GB.
Fricken Apple doesn't understand the concept of bandwidth caps :(

Especially the bandwidth caps down in Middle Earth…

Jealous. $80 in NZ might get you 30GB if you're lucky.

Slingshot - All you can eat. Got in it while I could, speeds aren't bad. You should stop getting you internet from telecom. :p

There is no Apple iOS device that supports SPP at this time.

    From Apple's own site: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647

There is also this interesting excerpt...

    http://www.rovingnetworks.com/Docs/WiFly-RN-370-DS.pdf

"Apple Computer requires an additional Bluetooth
authorization co-processor for every device that
    connects to the iPhone."

Is this is limited to just the iPhone? Probably not.

I don't want the sliding content to take over the screen so I won't be using the modal view.

I just came home from a store with this LG monitor for 249USD and I'm very happy with it plugged into my laptop. It's picture quality is frankly very similar to our 2007 iMac 24" (very nearly identical to me, although my wife - the designer - prefers the iMac).

We couldn't go with the 27" apple monitor as it's incompatible with the older MacBooks (like mine) with the mini-DVI.

But anyway - I'm very happy with it!

AppStore apps can't do that. Bluetooth usage is restricted.

Not sure if a cydia app exists.

The 27 is amazing. I got one about a month ago. The only thing is it spoils you. I used a 21 at work and it feels so small.

I've just run your CV through my parser and it's extracted the raw text fine. It has broken up the text into individual words rather than flowed properly into whole sentences, this is common though with PDFs. Any device which interprets PDFs will always encounter this problem, some deal with it by intelligently reflowing the text after conversion.

It may be this which is causing some online parsers to reject it?

Can't see anything specifically wrong with the file, all the fonts are embedded properly.

the Switcheasy NeoTouch puts your iPod at around the thickness of an iPhone 3Gs. not super slim, but pretty decent (slimmer than both the Rebel or the Torrent). i can attest to its quality and protection! otherwise check out their Nude.

Agreed. Google maps does the same thing, but not restricted to restaurants. Just go to your location, then search for something. Food, car repair, whatever. It'll pop up stuff in your area. I guess maybe you want to know about another area then go to that area of the map or enter a zip code with your search, or a city name, etc. NEVER had a need to draw a region. Kind of limiting anyway.

Sketch-a-Search is brilliant, but what would be better is a way to tag why you selected a place or why you didn't go to another.I suspect Yahoo will have to go deeper in value as while there is some value here it can be replicated in minutes by the under-employed programers in Silicon Valley.

The only things I ever do that use Silverlight are Netflix on my computer, and Bungie's website and their Halo stats, game, and film clip viewer. But, I can already do both of those things on the 360, so I can't say that I'm really in dire need of Silverlight.

In my Ipad app, I have a split view in which the detail view is a scroll view... I have 3 subviews to the scrollview which are tableviews... How do I use (void)bringSubviewToFront:(UIView *)view to bring one of the subviews of the scrollview to the front when an action is performed? (since Views are "stacked" in the order they're added with the last one on top). Should I write the code in the subview or in the detailViewController and how do I call it?

actually, there's a "Tunes" button on everyone's post (see the bottom bar on their posts). Click on that.

But, yes, there should be user search as well as a user list of people with recs.

    coming soon. :)
